Turbulence, all around me.
Drowning, always, the sailor who
Willingly
Cast himself
Into your sea.
Odysseus, Ulysses.
22 years of this insanity.
And this inmate never knew why he chose to be insane…
Over you…
To voluntarily allow himself to drown
Or
To perpetually
Fight drowning.
I, sailor,
Have thrashed about in your ocean,
Gasped for breath,
Gulped and died,
Washed up on shore,
Only to head back for the surf,
To paddle out,
Insane,
Loving only your sea.
Your taste.
Your brine, your salt, your foam.
Old man and the sea, me.
22 years it took.
